Begin in Budapest for this fascinating cruise along the River Danube towards the Black Sea, through the speactacular Iron Gates.

See the historic landmarks of the Yugoslavian Civil War in Vukovar including the Ovcara Memoria and see the 18th-century Petrovaradin Fortress at Novi Sad. Continue along the Danube to Belgrade, home to the impressive Kalemegdan Fortress before cruising through the Iron Gates, one of Europe's natural wonders which forms a border between Serbia and Romania.

Visit the port town of Vidin where you can see the 14th-century Baba Vida Fortress, a magnificent medieval castle, and see the mighty Belogradchik Fortress on the slopes of the Balkan Mountains before exploring the capital city of Bucharest.

Black Sea Voyage

Day 1 - UK - Budapest (Hungary)

Fly from your selected UK airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your ship on the Danube River. This evening there is a Welcome Reception followed by the Captain's Welcome Gala Dinner. (D)

Day 2 - Mohacs - Pecs

Arrive in Mohacs. Travel to Pecs and enjoy a guided tour including the spectacular Mosque Church and the fascinating underground burial chambers. After lunch on board, continue to Villany and sample the wines from a local vineyard. (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Vukovar (Croatia) - Novi Sad (Serbia)

Visit the landmarks of the Yugoslavian Civil War in Vukovar, including the Ovcara Memorial which is a monumental cross to those who lost their lives in Croatia's struggle for independence. Alternatively visit Ilok, famous for its wines. Cruise across the border to Novi Sad in Serbia for a guided tour. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Belgrade

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Belgrade where you can see the impressive Kalemegdan Fortress and the temple of St Sava. Alternatively, visit Tito's memorial and the House of Flowers (2016 only). (B,L,D)

Day 5 - Iron Gates

Relax on board as you cruise through the impressive Iron Gates. Perhaps head to one of the outdoor decks to view one of Europe's natural wonders. Forming the natural border between Serbia and Romania, this section of the River Danube provides a cruising highlight. (B,L,D)

Day 6 - Vidin (Bulgaria)

Having cruised into Bulgaria overnight, today you'll arrive in the port town of Vidin where you can see the 14th-century Baba Vida Fortress, a magnificent medieval castle and Belogradchik, a small town in the Balkan Mountains. See the mighty Belogradchik Fortress on the slopes of the Balkan Mountains amid unusual rock formations - the Belogradchik Rocks. (B,L,D)

Day 7 - Giurgiu - Bucharest or Veliko Tarnovo

In 2016, travel from Giurgiu to Bucharest to explore the open-air museum or the Palace of Parliament. In 2017, head to the ancient capital of Veliko Tarnovo where you'll enjoy a tour of Tsarevets Hill, the old citadel of the city, as well as the Royal Palaces and Baldwin's Tower. (B,L,D)

Day 8 - Rousse - UK

Disembark the ship in Rousse and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. (B)
